Written by on August 2, 2019

It’s back to road course racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series as this weekend’s stop takes the drivers to Watkins Glen, New York. This Sunday’s Go Bowling at the Glen race will be the second of the three road course races this season. The 220-mile race has a stacked field, and with it being a road course, strange things can happen. With just five races left until the start of the NASCAR playoffs, so all of the drivers will be trying to earn as many points as possible to get into the playoff race. With eight spots in the playoffs still up for grabs, everyone will be vying for a playoff spot. Let’s preview this weekend’s NASCAR Betting favorites and maybe a dark horse or two to take the checkered flag in the Go Bowling at the Glen.

2019 GoBowling at The Glen Odds, Preview & Expert Prediction

Martin Truex, Jr.

Trues loves Watkins Glen. He has had a lot of success racing on this course. In eight of his 13 career starts at Watkins Glen, he has finished in the top 10. He has also been dominant in the Go Bowling at the Glen event, as he won it in 2017 and finished second in 2018. With the great 2019 season that he has had up to this point, winning four of the 12 events, he should be in a good position to take the checkered flag this Sunday.

Kyle Busch

Busch is also a big fan of Watkins Glen, as he has won multiple times there. In all of his races at Watkins Glen, he has finished outside of the top 20 only once in his career. He has finished in the top five on five different occasions, and in the top 10 nine times. It’s safe to say that Busch loves racing here, and he would love to earn more playoff points with a victory on Sunday.

Joey Logano

Although Logano has struggled as of late at Watkins Glen, he has had a lot of prior success at this course. The leader in the playoff point standings would like to have a good showing this weekend. In 10 of his last 14 races, he has finished inside the top 10. In five of his last eight trips to the Glen, he has finished seventh or better.

Denny Hamlin

A past winner of this event, Hamlin has always raced well on road courses. With a victory last week, Hamlin wants to keep racing well. In his last eight road course races, he has finished in the top five in five of them. In his last three starts at Watkins Glen, he has averaged a sixth-place finish. Hamlin runs well on the road courses, so look for that to continue this weekend.

Erik Jones

Jones could be a sleeper pick. He has raced well as of late, finishing in the top three in his last three races. He finished fifth in last year’s Go Bowling at the Glen race and has raced well in his other appearances at the Glen. With momentum going in his direction, Jones could do some good things this weekend.
