The Arena of Blood Season 2 is set to enter the final stage of the competition, where we will see the six European and CIS Dota2 teams compete for the lion’s share of US $10,000 prize pool and the title of Arena of Blood champions. Let’s take a look at one of the upcoming matches so you can make your bets against their Dota 2 odds.

Dota 2 Arena of Blood Season 2

There are four fixtures on the schedule for the upcoming days, but all the eyes will be on the clash between Family Team (formerly Aggressive Mode) and Team Empire, who are regarded as two of the main favourites to go the distance and lift the trophy. Only one, however, will earn a direct bye into the upper bracket finals and with a best-of-three (Bo3) format in place, winning this bout won’t come down to pure luck.

On Tuesday, June 30, we will also see two more exciting fixtures featuring the winners of Khan vs Cyberium.S taking on the losing team from the opening upper bracket fixture between Nemiga and EXTREMUM, followed by a meeting between the winner of Team Unique vs. Team Heroic and the losers of the Family Team vs Team Empire clash.

Family Team vs Team Empire – Tuesday, June 30 – 16:55 MSK

Team Empire are entering this bout as the favourites, which is fair, considering this Russian esports organisation fields some of the brightest talents in this tier of the competition. Formerly of Team Empire Hope, Alexander “lightless” Potapenko, Alexey “Mastery” Vinchevskiy, Dzhama “jAM3S” Abdurashitov and Sergey “Ecnart” Slobodyanyk all moved to Team Empire earlier this month, where they joined forces with Alexey “Smiling Knight” Sviridov, who has previously helped Team Empire Hope to a first-place finish at BEYOND EPIC: Europe/CIS Closed Qualifier.

Since moving to the main roster, Ecnart and his crew already finished as runners-up at ROG Community Cup Season 2 and won the Vulkan Fight Series. Team Empire also participated at the BEYOND EPIC: Europe/CIS, where they finished last but they deserve some slack for their poor placement, since BEYOND EPIC: Europe/CIS fielded some of the strongest Dota2 teams in the scene.

Team Empire are entering this match with a 4-6 record from their last 10 matches played. They defeated miaww (1-0), Hydra (1-0), SMARACIS eSports (1-0) and OG.Seed (3-2), but lost to Khan (0-1 and 1-3), Ninjas in Pyjamas (0-2), Team Liquid (1-2), FlyToMoon (1-2) and Virtus.pro (0-2).

Family Team also participated at Vulkan Fight Series, where they made it to the lower bracket finals, but unfortunately had to admit defeat to OG.Seed (0-2). Apart from that, Family Team did not take part in any high-profile tournaments this month.

While still playing under Aggressive Mode’s banner, Giorgos “SsaSpartan” Giannakopoulos and his crew made some serious noise in the Dota2 competitive scene by finishing third at Cyber.bet Cup: Spring Series – EU and even took the title of the ESL One Birmingham 2020 – Online: Europe & CIS Qualifier champions.

Those results, however, don’t mean much, since the old Aggressive Mode roster is no longer together. While Kharis “SkyLark” Zafeiriou, Jan “Qupe” Tinnemeier and SsaSpartan all signed with Family Team, the remaining two spots were filled with Elliott “Adzantick” Hammond and Tasos “Focus” Michailidis, who arrived from NA’s Finest and Ad Finem respectively.

Family Team are holding onto a 40% win rate from their last 10 fixtures, however, it’s worth noting that out of their six losses, two came against Team Empire.

Since Team Empire already defeated Family Team twice this month, it makes sense for them to be priced as the favourites for this match. It’s worth noting, however, that their last two meetings were very close, as they both ended with all three maps played.

Team Empire are still the most likely winners here, but we would not be surprised if they drop one map. Although Family Team are still in the process of finding some stability with their performances, the individual quality they possess should be enough for them to keep this one close and win at least one map. A bet on Over 2.5 maps can also be considered.

Prediction: Family Team +1.5 maps
