2019 US Open Odds, Preview & Expert Predictions

Written by on June 12, 2019

Who wouldn’t want to golf in beautiful Monterey, California? The top names in golf will be vying for a major title this weekend, as the Pebble Beach Golf Linkswill be the site of the 119th US Open. With some of golf’s top names playing at an elite level in 2019, there will be a lot of storylines to follow during the US Open. Let’s take a look at some of these storylines alongside the latest Golf Odds.

2019 US Open Odds, Preview & Expert Predictions

Can Brooks Koepka Three-Peat?

Brooks Koepka has dominated the majors over the past two years. Since 2017, Koepka has won four majors, including the last two US Open’s. Although he struggled last week at the Canadian Open, Koepka will be ready to play at Pebble Beach. He seems to raise his game during the major tournaments.

Can Dustin Johnson Win His 2nd Major?

Johnson and Koepka are fighting for the top spot among the world rankings. The phrase, “close, but no cigar” could be used to describe Johnson’s finishes in major tournaments. He has finished near the top numerous times, but he only has the 2016 US Open title to his credit. Johnson is playing at an elite level this year. He finished in the top three in both the Masters and the PGA Championship. In his last three tournaments, he has shot 10 rounds in the ’60s. This course will be difficult, so Johnson will need to combine accuracy with his long driving distance in order to score well.

Rory is on a Roll

Rory McIlroy dominated last week’s Canadian Open. Rory shot four rounds in the ’60s while shooting a final round of 61. Although he comes in on a roll, McIlroy has something to prove this weekend. He has missed the cut in his last three US Opens and has missed five US Open cuts throughout his career. With that being said, Rory will want to prove his doubters wrong. He will want to show everyone that he has what it takes to compete and win major tournaments.

Tiger Woods

Oh yeah, we’ve yet to mention Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods made his triumphant return by winning the Masters earlier this year. With this year’s US Open being at Pebble Beach, Tiger is returning to the site where he had his most dominant victory ever. At the 2000 US Open, Tiger Woods won by 15 strokes. Woods hasn’t played at Pebble Beach professionally since 2012, so it’ll be interesting to see how he handles the course. Will we see the Tiger Woods that we saw at the Masters? We can only hope so.

Is Jordan Spieth Ready to Win Another Major

Spieth has been playing great golf. He has three top-10 finishes in his last three tournaments. Spieth has dominated in the early rounds of tournaments, but he has tended to struggle on the weekends. If he can be consistent throughout, he has the game to win another major. Will the big names dominate, or will a sleeper emerge from the pack and take the 2019 US Open title? Pebble Beach will be a great setting, and we’ll probably see some higher scores. The US Open will be fun to watch, and if some big names are in contention on Sunday, it will be must-watch TV.
