Written by on February 25, 2021

Now that most teams have reported to their Spring Training camps, it’s time to prepare for the regular season. The final goal of every team heading into the 162-game regular season is to end their season playing in the World Series. After an offseason full of free agent acquisitions, trades, and other transactions, the odds to win the 2021 World Series have been released. Let’s give a brief analysis on some of the top teams with the best odds to win World Series.

Last Minute World Series odds before Spring Training

Los Angeles Dodgers +400

After the signing of Trevor Bauer, the Dodgers could very well have the best starting rotation in baseball. Combine that with one of the top offenses in the game, and you have a team that has a great shot at winning back-to-back World Series titles. Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, Justin Turner, Corey Seager, Max Muncy and company should score plenty of runs this season. If the Dodgers bullpen can hold up, they should be one of the final teams left in the field.

New York Yankees +600

The Yankees have a monstrous offense, but a questionable starting rotation. After Gerritt Cole, the Yankees have some question marks in their rotation. Jameson Taillon is coming off an injury, as is Corey Kluber. If the Yankees can get solid contributions from their starters, they should be a playoff team. Injuries derailed their World Series chances last year, so health will be a huge key for this year’s squad.

San Diego Padres +900

The Padres won the offseason, as they acquired Blake Snell and Yu Darvish to solidify their starting rotation. The Padres already had a strong offense led by Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr., Tommy Pham, and Wil Myers combined with a powerful starting rotation, and the Padres have the team that can contend with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West.

Atlanta Braves +1000

The Braves have a great mix of youth and experience. The starting rotation is very young, but with veteran Charlie Morton in the middle, the Braves five starters should be stellar. As for their lineup, Ronald Acuna Jr. is a powerful weapon. Add Freddie Freeman, Marcell Ozuna, Dansby Swanson and Ozzie Albies to the mix, and you have a very good lineup.

Chicago White Sox +1000

The White Sox are the young, up-and-coming team that everyone is falling in love with. They have a lineup full of powerful, young hitters. Their starting staff should be very strong. Having Lucas Giolito, Dallas Keuchel and new acquisition, Lance Lynn, combined with some young flamethrowers, the Sox should win the AL Central.

New York Mets +1200

Now that the Mets are under new ownership, they’re making moves. They’ve spent money to improve, and could challenge the Braves for the top spot in the NL East. In trading for Francisco Lindor and Carlos Carrasco, the Mets have shown that they’re in it to win it. They have a very strong starting rotation, and a lineup that can challenge anyone.
