Let’s talk baseball. These are a few of our favorite games to bet on in Major League Baseball this week.

MLB Betting Picks of the Week – May 6th Edition

Kansas City Royals at Houston Astros – Monday, May 6, 2019

The Royals will come to Clutch City to take on the Houston Astros, who will send out one of their aces in Gerrit Cole. The Royals are not a dominant team by any means, especially on the offensive end. They will need to get to Cole early and often to rattle him and also, they better bring the run support or else. In the Astros’ latest game, they scored 10 runs and I’ll be honest, I think that is likely to occur again here. The Royals traded away Mike Moustakas and Lorenzo Cain, and subsequently much of their offensive firepower along with them. With the likes of Carlos Correa, Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve, George Springer, and Michael Brantley, I just feel that the Astros have the advantage at the dish. I like the Houston Astros to flex their offensive weapons and take a commanding lead early, winning this one by a score of 8 – 3.

Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles – Tuesday, May 7, 2019

This is the tale of two ball clubs, really. The Orioles are still not close to being where they should be. They have more prospects than regular starters. They need to get things going, but they seem to always be sellers in the market. The Red Sox, on the other hand, after a very slow start, have now won 11 out of their last 16 ball games. David Price takes the mound in this one and I love the way these Red Sox are playing lately. They are really putting it together on offense. They look like the team that won the world series last year. I like them to take this one on the road with a 4 – 2 victory. These teams know each other very well, being divisional opponents, and the Red Sox have typically dominated them. I see no evidence that that wouldn’t be the case again here.

Miami Marlins at Chicago Cubs – Tuesday, May 7, 2019

The Cubs have been one of the very hottest teams in the MLB. They have had it all under control in their past several weeks. After starting the season with 17 of 20 games away from Wrigley, they are starting to settle in. This game will be in Chicago, a place where they have been absolute lights out. Since starting with much concern to the season, they have recently crept right out of the cellar of the NL Central and into the conversation for the best team in the national league. Javy Baez might be the most electrifying player in the MLB, which is an excellent motivator for his team. Rizzo is as good a leader as they come and Joe Madden gets them to play ball with a fun demeanor. As for the Marlins, they no longer have J.T. Realmuto, Dee Gordon, Marcell Ozuna or Christian Yelich, so who delivers the offense for them? I just don’t see this team contending with a red hot Cubs team. They just don’t have enough firepower on the mound or at the plate. I like the Cubs to win this one by a score of 5 -2. Have a great week and enjoy the games!
