Let’s preview some of the biggest and most interesting MLB Betting games of the week.

Top MLB Betting Picks of the Week – July 29th Edition

Monday, July 29 – Atlanta Braves @ Washington Nationals

This is a huge series for both teams. With the Nationals sitting just 6.5 games behind the Braves in the National League Central, this series could either widen the Braves lead or could cut their lead down considerably. In-game one of the series, Dallas Keuchel will take the hill for the Braves. Keuchel hasn’t been a sharp as he’d like to be since his mid-season signing. He is 3-3 on the season with a 3.50 ERA. He’ll be opposed by Patrick Corbin, who has been on fire as of late. Corbin hasn’t lost in his last seven starts. He has struck out 57 hitters in his last 45 innings pitched. The Braves lineup is full of bashers, and the Nationals bats have really picked it up after a slow start to the season. This series could go a long way in determining who’ll take the NL East crown.

Tuesday, July 30th – Houston Astros @ Cleveland Indians

Two of the hottest teams in baseball will meet in Cleveland. Both teams have gone 8-2 in their last ten games at the time of this writing. The Indians have climbed to within one game of the AL Central-leading Minnesota Twins. This game will have a premier pitching matchup, as two all-stars will be on the hill. Astros ace, Justin Verlander will be opposed by Shane Bieber. Verlander has been dominant this year, as he comes in with a 13-4 record with a 2.86 ERA. He has struck out 183 batters in 144 innings pitched. Shane Bieber has come on strong for the Indians. Bieber is 10-3 with a 3.44 ERA, with 166 strikeouts in 133 innings pitched. He has come on strong as of late and has been a huge key to the Indians resurgence. With two dominant pitchers on the mound, we don’t look for a lot of runs in this one. One of these teams has to cool down, we’re just not sure which one it will be.

Thursday, August 1st – Chicago Cubs @ St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals, who had fallen as low as 4th place in the division, enter the week in 1st place after a huge resurgence. Going 8-2 in their last 10 entering the week, the Cardinals bats have finally come alive. Led by Paul Goldschmidt, who has homered in six straight games entering Sunday, the Cards lineup has stepped it up. Jack Flaherty will be on the mound for the Cardinals. The young fireballer has been inconsistent this season. At times he has flashed the talent that he possesses, but at others, he has looked like a young pitcher who still needs some work. He’ll be opposed by Jon Lester. Lester who had missed a turn in the rotation due to illness threw well in his last start at Milwaukee but didn’t figure in the decision. Jon is known for pitching well in big games, and this game will be huge for both teams. The Cubs have struggled to score runs and have struggled to hold a lead. If the Cardinals can put a few runs on the board early, this doesn’t bode well for the Cubs.
