Betting Guide for 2020 NFL Conference Championship Games

Written by on January 15, 2020

Well, the NFL is down to the final four teams. This is certainly not the four teams most people would have predicted at the start of the playoffs. However, that’s why we play the games. As far as betting is concerned, there are multiple ways to approach the conference championship games. First, you can bet on this weekend’s games. But you can also pick a Super Bowl winner from the four teams left. Let’s take a look at all of your NFL betting options.

Betting Guide for 2020 NFL Conference Championship Games

Pick a Winner

Kansas City Chiefs +120

The Chiefs didn’t make things easy for themselves against the Texans in the Divisional Round, but they sure dusted themselves off and picked themselves up in a hurry. The Ravens losing means Kansas City gets to host the AFC Championship Game, which looks like an even bigger advantage after they overcame a 24-0 deficit against Houston.

Remember, the Chiefs won six in a row to close out the regular season, so they’ve been at their best late in the season. The only caveat is that Andy Reid has always struggled to close the deal despite a wealth of experience in the championship round.

San Francisco 49ers +150

Facing the Vikings could have been a tricky game for the 49ers, but they handled it well. San Francisco’s ability to stop the run and force the Minnesota offense to throw the ball will suit them well the rest of the way, especially with their pass rush. If they get into a close game, there are still questions about whether Jimmy Garoppolo can come through in the clutch. However, the 49ers are at home in the championship game and might be the most well-rounded team still alive.

Green Bay Packers +600

Part of Green Bay’s win over Seattle was impressive and part of it was a little concerning. That being said, the Packers have Aaron Rodgers leading the way and a balanced offense with running back Aaron Jones pulling his weight.

The Green Bay defense did just enough against the Seahawks to survive and has a good enough pass rush to make things difficult for teams when the Packers are playing with the lead. Given the potential payout at +600, the Packers are an intriguing sleeper pick to win the Super Bowl.

Tennessee Titans +650

It’s probably not a good sign that nobody expected the Titans to get this far. But winning in New England and then winning in Baltimore says a lot about Mike Vrabel’s team. Nobody has been able to stop Derrick Henry all season, especially during the two playoff games. Ryan Tannehill has also pulled his weight, as has the Tennessee defense. Taking the Titans isn’t the most conventional pick, but there’s some value to it.

Against the Spread Games

Chiefs vs Titans

The Chiefs are favored by 7.5 points against Tennessee, and for good reason after their explosion against the Texans. But this will be a different kind of game. The Titans will run the ball and limit how many times Patrick Mahomes gets the ball. You also can’t put anything past the Titans at this point. Bet on Tennessee to beat the 7.5-point spread.

49ers vs Packers

The 49ers are 7-point favorites at home, which makes sense after they beat Green Bay 37-8 in late November. Both Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones were held in check in that game. Of course, the Packers haven’t lost since that game. However, that’s still a huge gap between the two teams to make up in less than two months. Bet on the 49ers to cover the 7-point spread.
