Cowboys vs Bears 2019 NFL Week 14 Odds, Preview & Prediction

Written by on December 4, 2019

Week 14 of the NFL season will kick off with Dallas traveling to take on the Chicago Bears. Both of these teams have major playoff implications on the line as they hover right at the .500 mark on the season. There are rumors out there that Head Coaches Matt Nagy and Jason Garrett will need to win several games down the stretch to keep their jobs, which only adds more pressure to this game.

Both teams are coming off Thanksgiving day action last week which saw Chicago able to grab a win while Dallas was defeated by the Buffalo Bills. Dallas can afford another loss as they play in the worst division in the entire league and are currently in first place in the NFC East. Chicago plays in a much tougher division and barring some unforeseen losing streak from the Packers or Vikings, a loss would all but eliminate them. Here is a closer look at these two teams alongside the latest NFL Odds for Thursday Night.

Cowboys vs Bears 2019 NFL Week 14 Odds, Preview & Prediction

Why bet on the Dallas Cowboys?

In their game against the Bills last week the defense really stepped up and was able to shine despite the loss as it was the only time the cowboys were beat by more than 10 points this season. This game could be another big opportunity as the Bears have a bottom four offense in both yards per game and total points scored per game. The Cowboys have lost their last two games and three of the last four but still sit in first place in the NFC East.

If they hope to get back into the win column then the trio of Dak, Zeke, and Amari Cooper will have to get back to their dominant selves. N team in the league averages more passing yards or total yards per game in the NFL. getting the lead early will be important as they try to feed Zeke as they got away from that in the second half last week and the offense looked a bit stagnant.

Why bet on the Chicago Bears?

Chicago is only allowing 17.3 points per game which is fourth best in the NFL. They will be getting a noticeable boost though if Akiem Hicks is able to play for the first time since week five. Mitchell Trubisky has been underwhelming this season but has played some of his best ball of the season in last weeks game as he completed 76 percent of his passes with three TDs. Prior to that game he had a season high passer rating of 131. His continued success will mean everything for the Bears team.

Chicago has won three of their last four games with two of them being decisive victories by close to double digits. Khalil Mack will need to have a big game in this one in order to keep Dak Prescott from settling in and wreaking havoc on a Bears’ defense that could be without Prince Amukamara. If he can’t provide the pressure it could be a long day for this Chicago secondary.

Pick & Prediction for Cowboys vs Bears

Dallas is the -3 favorite in this one as they are the road team. Chicago is the obvious choice in this one as despite the statistics, Dallas can struggle on offense pretty heavily. Not to mention the questionable head coaching decisions really handcuff a team that has to travel to play a stout defense.

Dallas has been the more talented team many times this season but have found ways to lose despite having better individual matchups. Chicago is just starting to click on offense at the right time and as a result will win this game as the underdog to keep their season alive.
