Bill O’Brien’s Houston Texans will play host to his former boss Bill Bellicheck and the New England Patriots. The Patriots are 10-1 against the Texans since the latter team entered the league in 2002. In four meetings since 2015, Bill Belichick’s team has beaten former New England offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien’s team five consecutive times with an average margin of victory of more than 15 points.
Although the past two games have been closer because of Deshaun Watson, he has had issues with tougher defenses. Here is a look at the Sunday Night Football game of the week while making some NFL Betting predictions.
Patriots vs Texans 2019 NFL Week 13 Odds, Preview & Prediction
New England PatriotsThe Patriots are an intriguing team this year due to how they have been forced to win football games. They have done it at an extremely high rate despite having a poor offense over the last few weeks. They are 10-1 with their lone loss coming to the Baltimore Ravens about a month ago.
The Ravens were the only team that has been able to figure out how to score and beat this Pats D, though Lamar Jackson may have been the biggest factor in that. They are currently only giving up 10.6 points a game and only given up more than 14 once in the aforementioned loss.
The secondary has turned into a turnover machine. Devin Mccourty and Stephon Gilmore are a fearsome tandem back deep as they both have pulled down five interceptions a piece on the season. Linebacker Jamie Collins is seeing a resurgence of his career as he is the team leader in both total tackles and sacks of the opposing team.
The offense is the unit that has struggled, which isn’t usually the case for a Tom Brady led team. He has been stepping up and forced to include a handful of UFAs as he completed a touchdown pass to his 75th receiver over his career.
Houston TexansThe Houston Texans will go as far as Deshaun Watson can take them. After that there isn’t much to get excited about with this Houston team. He played extremely well in a crucial division matchup last week against the Indianapolis Colts with over 300 yards passing and two touchdowns.
The Texans are currently in first place in their division as a result of the win. Overall they have played well this season as 3 of their 4 losses have come against teams currently in the playoff picture. Deandre Hopkins will have to get rolling in this game for the Texans to compete as he only has 836 yards through the air this season, although he has 6 scores to compliment those numbers.
The Houston D has been less solid this year and it wont get any easier as starting linebacker Dylan Cole will be out for this game. He is second on the team in tackles, Pass break ups, and QB pressures, so his loss will be a major impact.
