Titans vs Chiefs 2020 AFC Championship Game Odds & Expert Prediction
Tennessee TitansThe Titans were able to dismantle the Ravens in a game that they were heavy underdogs, but instead went on the road and won 28-12. They were able to force turnovers on Lamar Jackson who wasn’t very turnover prone this season which proved to be the difference. The Titans defense has only given up 15 points in the playoffs this year but face their toughest task of the season to date in this game. They have the 24th ranked pass defense which could be their Achilles heel as the Chiefs are one of the most lethal passing teams in the league.
Derrick Henry has been the MVP of the playoffs so far as he has been a one man wrecking crew. Henry is the first player in NFL history to have three consecutive games where a player posted 180 yards rushing. AJ Brown is a rookie receiver who had over 1.000 yards this season but has only 13 yards in the postseason. He will need to produce at a higher rate in this big game as they will have to match the Chiefs offense.
Kansas City ChiefsThe Chiefs started off the first quarter down by a score of 24-0 and then scored a touchdown on their next seven consecutive drives on their way to a win. They became the first team in NFL history to be down by double digits and then win by an even greater margin. Patrick Mahomes does not miss passes downfield to his open receivers. His ability to keep plays alive with his feet make the coverage assignments even tougher after the play starts to break down.
Travis Kelce had 10 catches for 134 yards and three touchdowns before leaving the game in the third quarter. Tyreek Hill always has the ability to turn a catch into six points as his speed is unmatched. If Mahomes is able to stay upright and keep plays alive then this Chiefs team is nearly unstoppable.
What about the defense? The Defense is the unit that will be tested in this game as Derrick Henry ran wild for nearly 200 yards in the previous matchup of these teams. Ryan Tannehill hasnt posed much of a threat to opposing defenses as he has yet to eclipse 200 yards passing in a postseason game. The Chiefs should get a much needed boost up front as Chris Jones was held out of the previous game but will be back healthy for this matchup.
