France will see some great soccer action this week and we look forward to seeing the best eight teams in the world look to advance. Let’s preview the four quarterfinal matchups alongside the latest Soccer Odds.

2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Quarterfinals Odds, Preview & Picks

USA vs. France

Team USA will face it’s the toughest challenge to date as they take on the host country France in front of its home fans. This is the match that everyone wanted to see. Many were hoping to see this matchup in the World Cup final, but we’ll have to settle for it in the quarterfinal instead. The USA will be looking to advance to their 8th straight World Cup semi-finals. The United States has won nine straight World Cup matches. In the group stage, the United States looked dominant, as they outscored their opponents 18-0. In the round of 16, Spain was a much tougher opponent. It took two penalty kicks from Megan Rapinoe to defeat the Spaniards by a score of 2-1. Much like the United States, Frances didn’t have an easy time advancing past the round of 16. France needed extra time to get a late goal and advance past Brazil. Both teams come into this matchup knowing that they’ll need to play better than they did in their last match if they wish to advance. Team USA will have the revenge factor on their side, as France defeated the US Women’s National Team 3-1 in a friendly match last January.

Norway vs. England

The English team enters this matchup undefeated in the tournament. After their 3-0 victory over Cameroon advanced them to the quarter-final stage, Team England will now take on Norway. Norway does have a loss in the tournament, as they played tough in a defeat to France. After their defeat of Australia, the Norweigians advanced to take on England. Norway, without star player Ada Hegerberg due to injury, has shown everyone that they are a force to be reckoned with. This will be a highly-contested match. Norway will need to play its best soccer to overcome the powerful English team.

Germany vs. Sweden

Team Sweden advances to take on Germany after a 1-0 victory over Canada. Sweden was ousted by the Germany team in the last World Cup. Sweden’s defense will have to stay strong if they want to defeat Germany. If Sweden can neutralize top German scorer Sara Dabritz, Germany will need to find other ways to put the ball in the net. Asllani showed off her offensive prowess against Canada. The former PSG and Manchester City player will need to come up big against the tough German defense. Germany won the 2016 Olympic gold medal in Rio. They defeated Sweden in their journey to the gold. This should be an exciting matchup.

Italy vs. Netherlands

Both teams came away with impressive wins on Tuesday. Italy shut down China, with a goal from Giacinti and Galli. The Italians went 2-0-1 in group play with wins over Australia and Jamaica and their 1-0 loss to Brazil. Netherlands has gone unbeaten so far with wins over New Zealand, Cameroon, Canada and now Japan. They have allowed just a single goal in every game so far. This could very likely be the first team that scores win type matchup.
